Bredkrum: turning my capstone into a business - Joe Tustin

Starting a business is hard and after starting a business as a recent bootcamp grad I can confirm it is hard. I will be discussing what I learned over the course of the last 6 months specifically, idea validation, technical business decisions, and the gotchas of start-up life.

Bredkrum is an app that solves lost and found for everyone. Currently supporting ~50 users and built as a serverless PWA in React.

Building an open-source, web-based computational notebook - Charles Ging

RedPoint is a free and open-source computational notebook tool that emphasizes ease of use, multi-language support, and web connectivity. RedPoint notebooks run in the browser, and allow you to write and execute JavaScript, Ruby, and Python code within the same document.

This talk will outline the uses of computational notebooks in general, detail the design goals and features of RedPoint, and highlight the technical challenges faced in building a web-native computational notebook and the solutions devised to address them.

Socialize:
We'll have beer and pizza! We'll also allow people to announce any job opportunities they may have at that time so you can socialize with potential applicants.
